Welcome to La Barbotière. The name translates to “The Paddle Pond.” La Barbotière is an old farm located on the outskirts of the village of Chevannes. It serves as an ideal base for exploring the city of Auxerre, the Yonne Valley, and the vineyards of northern Burgundy, particularly Chablis. You will also find nearby attractions in the Puisaye sub-region, including the castle of Guédelon, the castle of Saint-Fargeau, and the market of Toucy. The Basilica of Vézelay is also within easy reach.
To experience the region fully, consider an extended stay to take in its many offerings, and unwind under the trees, by the stream, or in the comfort of our available spaces.
We offer two recently renovated guest rooms named Chablis and Coulanges. No matter your interests, you can expect a warm welcome characterized by simplicity, as well as the opportunity to learn about the region from us.
Our rooms
Our Chablis and Coulanges rooms are designed for two guests for a minimum stay of two nights.
For a two-night stay, the rate is €120 per night, and for three nights and beyond, the rate is €110 per night. Breakfast is included in the price.

The house
Experience the inviting spaces of La Barbotière. Our rooms, located on the first floor, can be easily accessed via a staircase. On the ground floor, discover a spacious area featuring a large welcoming room, perfect for enjoying breakfast in the morning. The room is centered around a billiards table, which is available for your enjoyment. Continuing along, you will find a library, an ideal spot to immerse yourself in a good book by the fireside. When the weather is pleasant, take the opportunity to relax in the garden by the stream, where you can enjoy a picnic or watch the sunset.
